Central Gippsland Health (CGH) is a sub-regional health service and the major provider of health and aged care services in the Wellington Shire. CGH is located in the City of Sale which is 215 km east of Melbourne. The City of Sale is an ideal access point for the Gippsland Lakes, 90 Mile Beach and the Victorian Alps. CGH provides acute care as part of an integrated service delivery model across Wellington Shire and beyond. The service provides beds across three campuses (Sale, Maffra and Heyfield). Acute services include a full-time emergency department, critical care unit, neonatal critical care unit, three operating theatres, day procedure unit, oncology and dialysis services in addition to general medical and sub-acute services including rehabilitation. CGH is also a leading teaching hospital, affiliated with Monash University\'s School of Rural Health and provides placements and clinical experience for students.
About Department
The Critical Care Unit is an 8 bed unit that cares for intensive care, coronary care and high dependency patients.
About the Role
As the primary nurse you are accountable for establishing and evaluating the patient's plan of care in partnership with the patient, their carers and other members of the health care team.
Duties
To safely care for patients in the critical care unit including intubated and haemofiltered patients.
Qualifications, Skills and Experience
* Registered Nurse holding current registration with the Nursing & Midwifery Board of Australia.
* Relevant postgraduate qualifications and or experience in Critical Care Nursing.

We serve an immediate population of approximately 42,000 in Central Gippsland, and reach a wider community in East Gippsland in terms of more specialised services such as perinatal services, critical care and surgery.
We are unusual being both a sub-regional and an integrated health service, providing a broad range of primary, secondary and tertiary services, including a near comprehensive range of HACC services, through to adult intensive, coronary care and level 2 neonatal care.
The current focus of the health service is to use our integration and break down the traditional program barriers and service delivery silos that have flourished, in order to develop a highly efficient system that responds to people's needs by placing them at the centre of a service delivery system focused on supporting them to achieve their goals and aspirations, consistent with the principles embedded in the "active service model'.
