Role and Responsibilities
This position involves teaching individual instrumental music lessons, preparing students for AMEB or VCE Performance examinations, assisting with ensembles/performances and report writing. This casual position is approximately two (2) days per week, with the preference being Tuesdays and Thursdays to align with ensembles and the Year 7 band program.
This position will also cover a four (4) week casual sessional role during Term 3, commencing the week of 10th August and concluding the week ending 3rd September 2026. The successful applicant will be offered a casual, sessional role paid in line with the hourly rates set out by the Victorian Music Teachers Association.
About You
* Professional level experience on the Drumkit and orchestral percussion.
* Demonstrated success in taking individual and small group instrumental lessons, with students from Junior School to VCE.
* Demonstrated knowledge of pedagogy and interest in the use of technology in instrumental teaching.
* Possess an inherent understanding and passion for teaching children in a school setting.
* Possess an outstanding commitment to excellence in Music Education and a proven capacity for innovative, flexible and research‐based teaching practice.
* Be committed to the consistent delivery of lessons.
* Bachelor of Music or equivalent experience.
