About The Role
As the Governance Support Officer, you will provide essential administrative and governance support to ensure the smooth operation of Council and Committee functions. Working closely with the Governance team, you will assist in preparing agendas and minutes, maintaining registers, and supporting governance systems and processes.
This is a 0.8 FTE (part-time) position offering flexibility and the opportunity to contribute to meaningful community outcomes.
Key Responsibilities
* Coordinate and compile agenda papers and minutes for Council and Committee meetings
* Provide administrative support for meetings, including minute-taking and running sheets
* Maintain statutory registers and governance records
* Assist with delegations, authorisations, and compliance documentation
* Support governance systems and provide basic user assistance
* Prepare correspondence, reports and other documentation as required
* Conduct research of past Council decisions and records
About You
* Strong administrative and organisational skills, with the ability to manage competing priorities
* Excellent written and verbal communication skills
* A commitment to delivering high-quality customer service
* Sound computer skills, including Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint)
* An understanding of governance, compliance, or local government processes (desirable)
* Relevant qualifications or experience in administration, governance, compliance or similar fields
