About the Role
As a key member of our 23‑person Medical Imaging team, you will lead and manage a dedicated Ultrasound section comprising 7 skilled staff. You’ll deliver high‑quality, patient‑centred imaging services for the Tamworth region while ensuring optimal clinical outcomes.
Our Department Provides
- General X‑ray, Dental Imaging, Image Intensification
- Fluoroscopy, Mobile Imaging
- CT and Ultrasound
- Our Ultrasound suite offers obstetric, abdominal/pelvic, venous Doppler, limited musculoskeletal, and paediatric examinations.
About You
- Extensive experience in radiography (dental, theatre, trauma, paediatric)
- Ability to work autonomously and collaborate effectively within a multidisciplinary team
- Proven ultrasound experience across abdominal, pelvic, small parts, obstetrics, vascular, and paediatric imaging
- Strong patient engagement and a commitment to exceptional service delivery
- High‑level communication and report‑writing skills
- Strong prioritisation, organisational, and problem‑solving abilities
- Commitment to professional and ethical practice, particularly in complex clinical environments
- NSW driver licence eligibility and willingness to travel as required
- Willingness to supervise and support colleagues and students
- A proactive approach to quality improvement and continuous learning
- Flexibility to support other sites for training or service needs
Essential Requirements
- Degree in Medical Radiation Science (Diagnostic Radiography) or equivalent. Eligible for registration with Australian Health Professionals Registration Authority (AHPRA), hold/current NSW EPA Radiation licence and ASAR accreditation.
- Post graduate qualification in Medical Sonography and registration with the Australian Sonographers Accreditation Registry (ASAR).
- Participate in the Rosters, overtime and on‑call duties as required by the site.
