About The Role
Federation Council is seeking a highly skilled and community minded Electrical Technician to join our Engineering Services team. This is a critical role responsible for the heartbeat of our community – the electrical infrastructure that ensures safe drinking water and effective sewerage treatment.
Based at the Corowa Water Filtration Plant, you will provide specialist trade services ranging from industrial electrical works to essential breakdown repairs across our treatment plants, pump stations, and reservoirs.

Have the ability to navigate the complex social landscape of a regional council while maintaining rigorous technical standards. We need more than just technical expertise. We are looking for a professional who understands the balance between technical precision and tactful community engagement.
In This Role You Will, But Not Limited To
* Maintain, repair, and upgrade electrical equipment, electronic instrumentation, and control assemblies
* Install and commission process instrumentation, PLC systems, VSDs, and telemetry/SCADA networks
* Ensure all works meet Australian Standard AS3000, NSW Health regulations, and environmental standards
* Participate in a rotational on‐call roster to ensure 24/7 reliability of essential services
Essential Key Criteria To Be Addressed In Applications
* Hold a current and valid Electrical Trade Certificate with previous experience in electrical installations maintenance
* Hold a current and valid class 'C' driver's licence
* Possess the ability to understand and maintain the electrical systems involved in municipal water and sewerage treatment plants
* Intermediate user in a range of software packages such as Microsoft Office, Email systems, Internet searching and Records Management systems such as TRIM
* Demonstrated knowledge of WHS practices and ability to actively encourage and promote a safe working environment
* Demonstrated history of showing initiative in solving problems, improving methods and productivity and ability to seek guidance where required

The appointment will be in accordance with the Local Government (Electricians) (State) Award and Council's policies and conditions of employment. The salary is commencing at $1670.80 per week with progression up to $1844.30 per week dependent upon skills and experience.
