Job Summary
Business Support Officer for the Operational Leadership and Capability (OL&C) Team and Classification and Placement Unit (CPU) within the Department of Justice and Community Safety (Youth Justice). Full‐time, fixed‐term contract through 30 June 2027. This role supports the effectiveness and efficiency of the teams, delivering high‐quality administrative, coordination and logistical services.
Key Responsibilities
* Provide high‐level administrative support, including meeting coordination, agenda and minute preparation, correspondence management and record keeping.
* Support the planning and delivery of training, professional development and capability‐building initiatives for custodial staff.
* Assist with preparing reports, briefing notes, presentations and documentation for internal and external stakeholders.
* Maintain and update databases and registers related to staff coaching and Higher Duties Assignment (HDA) processes.
* Identify improvements and contribute to development of new systems and processes in collaboration with subject‐matter experts.
* Support project coordination through planning, logistics, and tracking of deliverables.
* Assist with procurement and financial administration tasks as needed.
* Provide customer service support to internal managers and staff.
Qualifications & Experience
* Experience in providing confidential, personal and administrative support including database management and Microsoft Office applications.
* Experience supporting training or learning and development programs is desirable.
* Desirable to have previous or current experience working in government.
* Current full driver's licence.
Additional Requirements
* Travel between precincts and external training venues is required.
* Working with Children Check (WWCC) is required and must be maintained for the period of employment.
