We are seeking a suitably qualified and experienced Senior Nurse to work closely with the Sexual Assault leadership team, contributing to the enhancement of forensic and medical services across the district.
A passion for supporting clients who have experienced violence, abuse, and neglect is essential.This position involves a rotating roster across the week, including business hours, afterhours, and weekends.If this sounds like the opportunity you've been looking for – we'd love to hear from you.What You'll Be DoingThe Sexual Assault Nurse Examiner (SANE) Clinical Nurse Specialist 2 provides specialised, holistic forensic/medical care to male and female victims (14 years and above) which is patient-centred, culturally responsive and trauma informed, meeting the medical, forensic and psychosocial needs of patients who have experienced a recent sexual assault.
Additionally, the position will provide medical and documentation care to people who have experienced domestic and family violence.
The role works within a multidisciplinary and multi-agency approach including NSW Police, Department of Communities and Justice and other care providers.The CNS 2 position provides senior nursing clinical leadership in the development of specialist clinical practice and service delivery within the service.
The CNS 2 employs advanced clinical skills and exercises extended autonomy of decision-making, working closely with managers and CNCs.SWSLHD is focused on achieving our Vision of Leading Care, healthier communities.

Describe how your professional development, forensic training, and understanding of NSW Health's Child Protection Policy equip you to provide expert evidence in court and timely medical responses in cases involving violence, abuse, or neglect.Willingness to complete Graduate Certificate in Medical Forensic Management of Sexual Assault, Domestic Violence and Medical Forensic Photography and Providing a Medical and Forensic Response to DFV (nationally recognised).
Applicants must possess an Australian C-Class driver's license (including P1 or P2).
Those who hold a C class license (P1 or P2 included) from a state other than NSW must obtain a NSW C class (P1 or P2 included) license within three months of appointment.
