We work with those kids and their families to grant unforgettable wishes – like making unicorns fly, sending kids to the moon and even helping Australia’s youngest ever cricket captain don the baggy green!
The friendly team at the Perth South Branch are looking for an enthusiastic individual to join Make-A-Wish as the volunteer Treasurer.
Responsibilities
Maintaining and ensuring compliance with financial policies and procedures.
Providing guidance and support to volunteer staff regarding financial matters.
In addition to the above responsibilities, the volunteer Treasurer will also be part of the volunteer team helping children who are fighting serious illnesses by:
Attending your branch meetings on a weekday evening once a month.
Helping local wish families by capturing their child's unique wish and bringing it to life through different stages of the Wish Journey.
Supporting fundraising and events, from trivia nights and sausage sizzles to gala balls and bake-offs.
Raising awareness and support in your local community.
Key Requirements
Must be 18 years of age or over.
Commit to at least 12 months as a volunteer to ensure consistency for wish children and their families.
Complete a comprehensive background check, including interview, reference checks, a Working with Children Check (or equivalent for your State/Territory) and a National Background Check.
Complete comprehensive online induction training within the first 6 weeks, so at least a basic level of technical skill is required, plus access to a personal email and a suitable device, such as a laptop.
Attend branch meetings on a weekday evening once a month.
Have access to reliable transport to attend meetings, wishes and fundraising events.
