Job Description
* Manage end-to-end insurance and product-related claims.
* Handle high-volume customer complaints with professionalism and empathy.
* Conduct detailed investigations, gather supporting evidence, and assess claims in line with policies and consumer law.
* Prepare accurate, well‑structured submissions for Fair Trading and relevant Tribunals.
* Coordinate documentation, timelines, and procedural requirements.
* Support internal stakeholders through the dispute resolution process.
* Provide exceptional customer service by resolving inquiries efficiently and effectively.
* Maintain accurate records and ensure all documentation is compliant and up to date.
* Manage workflow, prioritising tasks in a fast‑paced, high‑volume environment.
* Perform root‑cause analysis on recurring issues or complaints.
* Provide insights and recommendations to reduce future claims.
* Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives.
The Successful Applicant
* Paralegal or legal assistant experience, ideally within consumer law, insurance, claims, or disputes.
* High attention to detail and proven analytical skills.
* Ability to manage deadlines and work effectively under pressure.
* Excellent written communication skills; experience preparing formal submissions.
* Adaptable and organised - enjoys ticking tasks off and keeping processes moving.
* Overseas‑qualified lawyer or paralegal background (no practising certificate required).
* Experience with Fair Trading, consumer protection matters, or Tribunal processes.
* Strong working knowledge or interest in Australian consumer law.
