We are seeking a distinguished academic to lead our efforts in climate-focused research and teaching. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record of internationally recognized research and a deep understanding of Civil, Mechanical, or Electrical Engineering.
The role involves creating new research and teaching programs that tackle climate change through innovative designs and systems. You will lead initiatives in teaching and research that deliver successful Climate Safe outcomes.

Key Responsibilities
* Make a substantial and sustained contribution to the University's strategic objectives and operational responsibilities.
* Undertake high-quality research of international standing, secure external funding, publish research findings, and successfully supervise research higher degree students to completion.
* Undertake scholarly undergraduate (and if relevant postgraduate) coursework teaching of an exemplary quality.
* Provide academic leadership, particularly in building teams and fostering outstanding research and/or learning and teaching, and increasingly in supporting the career development of more junior staff.
* Lead initiatives in teaching and research that deliver successful Climate Safe outcomes.
Required Skills and Qualifications
The ideal candidate will have a strong background in one of the following areas: Electrical Engineering (Power Systems, Electronics, or Control Systems), Mechanical Engineering (Design, Manufacturing, or Thermo-Fluids), or Civil Engineering (Structural, Geotechnical, or Water Resources). They will also possess excellent leadership and communication skills, as well as a demonstrated capacity to build and maintain effective links locally, nationally, and internationally.
Benefits
This is an ongoing full-time role based in Hobart, Tasmania, offering a total remuneration package of up to $210,621 comprising base salary and superannuation. A relocation package, including visa sponsorship, is available for the ideal candidate.
