About the Opportunity
We have an exciting full‐time opportunity based in Karratha for a Family and Domestic Violence Advocate within our Safe at Home Program. This community‐based initiative aims to raise awareness and provide support to individuals and families impacted by family and domestic violence.
Responsibilities
* Provide case management to women experiencing family and domestic violence.
* Contribute to positive outcomes through advocacy, case management support, and community engagement.
* Assist women to remain safely in their homes where appropriate.
* Support clients to access alternative housing and community services when home is no longer a safe option.
* Ensure the values of the organisation are upheld and contribute positively to the culture of the organisation.
* Ensure a safe working environment and promote reasonable self‐care and care of others.
* Ability to travel across the Pilbara, including overnight stays.
Qualifications
* Certificate IV (minimum) and/or experience in Community Services, Mental Health, Youth Work or other relevant field.
* Knowledge of domestic and family violence issues affecting families, including those from culturally and linguistically diverse and Indigenous backgrounds.
* Proven ability to provide casework support.
* An understanding of the complexities of Family and Domestic Violence.
* Previous involvement in the Community Legal Sector and knowledge of the Action Step database preferred.
* Demonstrated networking ability.
