The South Australian Health and Medical Research Institute (SAHMRI) is dedicated to innovative research that improves lives. As part of the Australia and Recent Zealand Organ Replacement Registries Group (ANZORRG) you’ll contribute to advancing critical health data systems.
About the Role
We’re seeking a Lead Software Developer to provide technical leadership and hands-on development for ANZORRG’s registry information systems. You’ll lead a small team, design and deliver new features, and continuously improve existing applications to ensure they remain robust, secure, and user-friendly.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and mentor a small development team
- Design and deliver software solutions aligned with stakeholder needs
- Oversee the full software development lifecycle
- Develop responsive front-end interfaces and robust back-end components
- Ensure quality assurance, security, and compliance standards
- Collaborate with ICT teams on infrastructure and cybersecurity
- Drive process improvements and report on project progress
About You
You’re a technically strong, solutions-focused developer with leadership experience and a passion for delivering quality software.
Essential:
- Degree in Computer Science, Information Management, or equivalent
- Expertise in Microsoft .NET MVC Framework, C#, and Kendo UI
Highly regarded:
- Experience with data visualisation app development using Plotly or similiar
- Experience with RESTful APIs, Git, and Python
- Knowledge of SQL Server, SSRS, HTML5, CSS, Bootstrap, JavaScript
- Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines (Jenkins) and Atlassian tools
- Understanding of data governance and security in healthcare
- Ability to produce quality code (UI/UX design) and understand existing codebase with ability write meaningful unit level tests and documentation
Non-technical skills:
- Strong communication and stakeholder engagement
- Ability to lead small teams and manage end-to-end delivery
- Understanding of data governance, privacy, and security principles in healthcare environments.
- Proven experience implementing and supporting software solutions
