* Style Definition: Establish the visual language for VFX, ensuring it aligns with the game's core pillars.
* Quality Control: Review all VFX assets to ensure they meet the studio's high standards for timing, color theory, and composition.
* Consistency: Guarantee that VFX remain visually consistent across diverse environments and gameplay scenarios.

The Lead VFX Artist ensures that beauty doesn't come at the cost of performance.
* Engine Mastery: Oversee the seamless integration of effects into Unreal Engine, utilizing Niagara to its full potential.
* Cross-Disciplinary Collaboration: Work with programmers to optimize shaders and particle counts, ensuring a smooth framerate across PC, Console, and Mobile platforms.
* Tool Development: Contribute to the creation of in-house tools and workflows to streamline the VFX pipeline.

* Resource Allocation: Assign tasks based on individual artist strengths to maximize efficiency and creative output.
* Pipeline Oversight: Continuously audit the VFX workflow to identify bottlenecks and implement modern industry solutions.
5. Hands-on Content Creation
While this is a leadership role, you will still "get your hands dirty" by:
* Prototyping: Conceptualizing and animating high-impact effects for tools, weapons, and environmental elements.
* Advanced Effects: Creating complex atmospheric effects, vehicle physics-based VFX, and dynamic UI elements.

* Industry Tenure: Significant professional experience in game development, specifically within VFX.
* Portfolio: A world-class portfolio demonstrating a wide range of effects, from the naturalistic (fire, water, smoke) to the fantastical (magic, sci‐fi tech).

* Unreal Engine Specialist: Expert-level knowledge of Unreal Engine, with a specific mastery of the Niagara visual effects system.
* 3D Modeling: High proficiency in 3D software, with a strong preference for Autodesk Maya.
* 2D Mastery: Advanced skills in Photoshop for texture creation and After Effects for motion graphics and pre-visualization.
* Animation Fundamentals: A deep understanding of weight, timing, and "the 12 principles of animation" as they apply to particle systems and secondary motion.
Soft Skills
* Communication: The ability to articulate complex visual concepts to non-artistic stakeholders (engineers and producers).
* Observation: A keen eye for detail and the ability to replicate real-world physical phenomena in a digital environment.
* Adaptability: Comfort working in a fast-paced, iterative environment where creative goals may evolve.
