About the role
Reporting to the Mechanical Maintenance Supervisor, the Mechanical Technician is responsible for delivering safe, reliable and high-quality maintenance across concentrator equipment at Ernest Henry. This role plays a key part in ensuring plant availability by executing maintenance activities, identifying faults and supporting continuous improvement across mill maintenance operations. You will work as part of a well-established team, contributing to both planned and breakdown maintenance.
Key responsibilities
* Executing preventative, corrective and breakdown maintenance
* Fault finding across mechanical, hydraulic and lubrication systems
* Supporting shutdowns, rebuilds and maintenance campaigns
* Maintaining accurate records within CMMS systems
* Working closely with operations to minimise downtime
* Upholding strong safety and compliance standards
About you
We are seeking a reliable and safety-focused Mechanical Technician who can contribute to team performance and bring solid maintenance capability.
Ideal candidate will have
* A mechanical trade qualification
* Experience in mining, processing or heavy industry environments
* Strong hands on fault finding and problem-solving skills
* Exposure to fixed plant or concentrator equipment (preferred)
* Experience with filter presses, slurry systems or lubrication systems (advantageous)
* Ability to work effectively across a rotating roster including nights
* Strong team mindset with a willingness to learn and contribute

Roster and working conditions
Work an attractive flyin/flyout (FIFO) roster from Cairns or a drivein/driveout (DIDO) roster. Roster is 8/67/7 and a 12 hour shift.
