SCHEDULE: 12-Month (25 vacation, 15 leave, & 12 holidays)
LOCATION: BECC, 125 South Church St, Brighton, MI 48116
STARTING DATE: August 3, 2026
RATE OF PAY: $159,869 (+5.8% merit stipends and 5% TSA)
POSITION DESCRIPTION:
The Brighton Area Schools is seeking an experienced and collaborative candidate to lead the district's business department. This individual will be responsible for planning for and implementation of the district's $128 million budget, departmental leadership, systems management, compliance, and financial oversight of district operations. The district's business office consists of a director of accounting, a payroll specialist, a fringe benefits specialist, and an accounts payable specialist.

* Staff: Approximately 1,293 (Includes shared-time staffing)

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE:
* Master's degree in business, accounting, or another related field
* A minimum of three (3) years of experience as a leader within a Michigan public school district's business department:
o District assistant superintendent or executive director in the area of business.
o Accountant, supervisor, or other administrative level position within a district's business department.
* MSBO current Chief Financial Officer certificate preferred
