Join the team at Hope Island Tavern – a busy local favourite known for its welcoming atmosphere, strong food trade and family‐friendly dining experience. We're currently looking for a Casual Chef de Partie to support the kitchen team across busy lunch, dinner and weekend services. This role is perfect for a chef who enjoys fast‐paced service, takes pride in consistency and works well as part of a strong brigade.
Located in one of the Gold Coast's growing hospitality precincts, Hope Island Tavern delivers high‐volume trade with a menu focused on quality pub classics, crowd favourites and seasonal specials.
Responsibilities
* Casual role with consistent hours available (35+ hours per week)
* Work across prep, service and section management
* Assist with food preparation and daily kitchen operations
* Maintain food quality and presentation standards during busy trade periods
* Support kitchen operations and assist junior staff where required
* Contribute to a clean, organised and safety‐focused kitchen environment
Qualifications
* Previous experience as a Chef de Partie or strong Demi Chef ready to step up
* Knowledge and experience working across grill and basic sauce preparation
* Ability to work on a rotating roster including nights and weekends
* Strong communication and teamwork skills
* Ability to work calmly and efficiently under pressure
* Good understanding of food safety and kitchen operations
* Own transport is essential, as public transport options are limited after 6pm
