NES Fircroft has partnered with a global energy business to hire a Production Chemist for a 12-month contract in Brisbane, QLD. A major coal-seam gas operator is seeking an experienced Production Chemist to oversee chemical assurance across wells, facilities, and pipelines, collaborating with Production Technology, Engineering, Wells, and Development teams.What you’ll do:Process Chemistry: Monitor and analyse chemical programs; troubleshoot anomalies; design and optimise treatments for corrosion, scale, emulsion, H₂S, and flow assurance.Technical Advice: Provide expertise on corrosion inhibition, produced-fluid conditioning, phase separation, well stimulation, and chemical flow assurance.Product Stewardship: Lead chemical risk assessments and SDS management, ensuring compliance with Australian regulations and internal standards.Contract Support: Assist with chemical supply & laboratory services contracts—scope, performance, cost, and HSE alignment.Data & Reporting: Manage the production-chemistry data repository; generate technical and statistical reports to inform WRFM decisions and business KPIs.What you’ll bring:Bachelor’s degree in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, or a related field.5+ years’ production-chemistry experience in coal-seam gas or upstream oil & gas (Queensland CSG experience preferred).Proven track record in corrosion/scale control, chemical optimisation, and field troubleshooting.Familiarity with LIMS, PI, Maximo, and chemical-modelling tools (e.g., OLGA, Prosper).Strong understanding of Australian WHS, Dangerous Goods, and environmental regulations.Excellent stakeholder engagement skills—able to interface with operators, vendors, and multidisciplinary teams.This position requires full right to work in Australia.Please submit your CV by clicking APPLY.
