The opportunity
The MQ-28 Ghost Bat program is entering an exciting growth phase, and BDA is seeking exceptional commercial operators to work on complex and strategically important efforts.
What we're looking for
* Experienced contracts professional, preferably with legal qualifications and experience, with the ability to innovate and create a "can‐do" self‐starter with experience advising and influencing senior stakeholders.
* Proven record of delivering commercial outcomes for their customer.
* Experience supporting complex projects and stakeholder sets.
Key Responsibilities for this position include:
* Provide strategic advice and support to the MQ-28 program on contractual and commercial issues.
* Deliver key commercial milestones and orders, while balancing the customer's requirements with advancing BDA's goals and strategies.
* Establish and maintain strong relationships with senior customer stakeholders on all contract and commercial matters.
* Lead contract negotiations to achieve BDA's desired commercial outcomes.
* Contribute to the strategic direction of the MQ-28 commercial team, with a focus on continuous improvement.
* Support and mentor more junior contracts colleagues.
* Work effectively with internal and external stakeholders to achieve BDA's strategic goals.
* Exercise appropriate signature authority in negotiating and executing contractual instruments on behalf of the company.
Experience and Qualifications
Essential
* Formal qualifications in a related discipline (Law preferred, Business, Finance, Engineering).
* Advanced skills in complex contracting, commercial management and negotiation.
* Strong planning and organisational skills.
* Demonstrated ability to mentor and develop contracting specialists.
* Demonstrated stakeholder engagement skills.
* Strong commercial acumen.
* Excellent drafting skills.
Desirable
* Australian Defence industry experience.
* Knowledge of and experience with the Australian Standard Defence Contracting (ASDEFCON) suite of templates.
* Demonstrated experience in formulating innovative contractual and commercial acquisition and sustainment strategies for proposals.
