Your Role You'll hold an influential position; guiding and managing the drafting team, and reporting to the Managing Director. You will use your management expertise and continuous improvement skills to lead, support, and develop the team, ensuring projects are delivered efficiently and to the highest standard. You'll be required to: Manage all drafting administration, including reporting, registers, WIP data, purchase order approvals, and customer enquiries. Coordinate drafting workflow such as job documentation, allocation, scheduling, progress tracking, and quality assurance. Review and approve all drawings and design documentation, ensuring accuracy, compliance, and readiness for customer or production release. Lead, coach, and develop the team, overseeing recruitment, resource planning, performance management, engagement, and wellbeing. Collaborate with internal departments, suppliers, and contractors to maintain operational alignment, resolve issues, and support business objectives. Report operational performance, safety, capacity, and key challenges to senior management and ensure customer concerns are actioned same day. Lead improvement projects, identify efficiency opportunities, develop business cases, and work with software providers to optimise systems. Promote and enforce a strong safety culture, ensuring WHS compliance and implementing on-site safety protocols Other Details A full-time position, based on-site in the North of Adelaide. Expected hours are Monday to Friday, 7:30am – 5:30pm and remuneration guide is $115K - $135K Super, Phone and Laptop. About You Management experience in fast-paced, customer-focused environments, ideally in manufacturing, construction, or related industries. Self driven and confident with the ability to lead, motivate, and develop teams while fostering accountability, collaboration, and operational excellence. Strong operational, problem-solving, and scheduling skills; experienced managing contractors, suppliers, and external stakeholders to deliver results under tight timelines. Proficient in CAD for residential housing and light gauge steel, with knowledge of building codes, regulations, development protocols, and environmental legislation. Engineering degree or equivalent technical qualification Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, adaptable and results-driven, with proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Word.
