Position Information
Dubbo College South Campus is part of Dubbo College, a three-campus collegiate enrolling approximately 1750 students located in the central west of NSW. South Campus is one of two junior campuses with a current enrolment of 750 students in Years 7 to 10. There are 9 Specialist Support classes with an enrolment of 71 students. 47% of students identify as Aboriginal and are supported by an Aboriginal Education Officer, Clontarf, NASCA and a school funded Aboriginal School and Community Engagement Officer. With a focus on excellent student outcomes in an environment of inclusion, tolerance for difference and pursuit of equity, the campuses of Dubbo College have established a reputation for providing high level opportunities for all. The College focuses on academic, sporting and cultural outcomes for students whilst valuing citizenship and contribution to the community. The school has strong links with the Local Dubbo AECG, external agencies and TAFE.
Specific Selection Criteria
- Approval to teach, knowledge and understanding of, and/or experience teaching in special education settings, working with students who have mild and moderate intellectual disability and autism, mental health, behaviour, physical disability, or complex health care needs.
- Demonstrated ability to design and teach quality, differentiated educational programs and develop Personalised Learning and Support Plans and Behaviour Management Plans for students with a wide range of individual learning needs while providing a culture of high expectations for all students in a multistage setting.
- Demonstrated capacity to create a safe and supportive learning environment with proven classroom management expertise and wellbeing practices.
Conditions
An unconditional full approval to teach is a requirement. If you do not hold a full approval to teach with the NSW Department of Education, you are required to commence the application process at the same time as you apply for this teaching chance.
Applicants seeking either permanent full time or permanent part time employment are encouraged to apply for this position. If the recommended applicant is seeking permanent part time employment (FTE from 0.1 to 0.9 inclusive), they will be offered an appointment at their desired FTE. Applicants on the eligibility list will be offered the remaining FTE but are not obliged to accept. Further information can be found on the merit selection webpage.
A Relocation Support Payment of $5,000 up to $8,000 will be available for eligible applicants.
