We are seeking a Senior Software Engineer with extensive experience in building scalable, cloud-native applications, data pipelines and orchestrated workflows on AWS, to strengthen our technical team. The ideal candidate will be involved in the design, development, and deployment of software systems, ensuring performance, reliability, and security at scale, while thriving in an Agile development environment. This is a high-impact role focused on the back end of our AWS-based data and application infrastructure. You'll work on real-time and large-scale systems—over 6 billion rows—supporting our data-centric mission.

Key Responsibilities
Software Design and Development (85%)
* Design and Architect Solutions (Batch, Streaming, Applications, APIs etc.)
* Hands on Develop/Implement/Test/Deploy.
* Optimize, Scale and Automate current implementations.
Business as Usual (10%)
* Management and Oversight of Data In-Flows and Out-Flows.
* Production Support including alerting, monitoring and bug fixes.
* Client and Business team Support.
* Collaboration with Offshore team.
Technical Documentation (5%):
* Creation and maintenance of technical documentation.
Beyond technical expertise, you will play a vital role in providing feedback and suggestions for process and product improvement. Your insights will be instrumental in enhancing the overall efficiency and effectiveness of our application stack.
Required Skills and Qualifications
To be considered, we are seeking applications from experienced developers who will bring the following experience and skillset to the role:
* Minimum 6-7 years of proven experience designing and implementing AWS cloud-native solutions meeting high quality standards while simultaneously balancing security, performance, availability, and maintainability concerns.
* Ability to design and implement serverless architectures with AWS Lambda and create complex and scalable workflows using AWS Step Functions.
* Ability to design and implement RESTful APIs and integrate with third-party services, with a solid understanding of API security, versioning, and documentation (OpenAPI/Swagger).
* Be able to design and build data products and pipelines for optimal extraction, transformation and loading of data from and to a wide variety of data sources using Snowflake, AWS and Other Cloud Stacks.
* Extensive experience with core AWS data services such as S3, EC2, Fargate, Lambda, Step Functions, AWS Batch, API Gateway, SNS, SQS, AWS Glue, Glue ETL, Redshift, DynamoDB, Aurora, RDS, OpenSearch, ElastiCache and IAM.
* Experience working with extremely large databases (experience in Aurora, Redshift, Dynamo DB) writing complex queries, query performance enhancements, etc.
* Strong proficiency in Python Development and SQL.
* Experience with containerization (Docker) and orchestration (ECS, EKS, Kubernetes).
* Hands-on experience with CI/CD pipelines, Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools like Terraform or CloudFormation, and version control systems.
* Proficiency in writing test cases, executing test scripts, fixing defects, and recording test results.
* Experienced in applying secure coding principles and ensuring adherence to best practices during development and code reviews.
* Experience working in agile/scrum development teams.
Bonus Skills
* Azure, GCP or Snowflake.
* AWS Solutions Architect certification.
* Experience using modern AI developer tools (eg Anthropic's Claude) for workflows such as code generation, refactoring, and integrating AI assistants into engineering processes.
* ETL experience using Apache Spark/Glue/Athena.
* InfoSec experience working within a Secure Software Development Framework.
* Familiarity with front-end frameworks (React, Angular, Vue).
* Experience working with large language models (LLMs) and generative AI frameworks (such as OpenAI, Azure OpenAI, or Hugging Face), including prompt engineering, fine-tuning, and integrating AI-driven features into applications.
