Join us in shaping the future of Australia's energy landscape! As a Principal - Design Engineer specialising in substations, you’ll play a pivotal role in designing and delivering critical substation infrastructure that underpins the transmission network. You’ll contribute to enabling new renewable energy zones and supporting Australia’s transition to clean energy by working on some of the country's largest and most high-profile tier-one substation projects. You’ll lead complex substation designs, ensuring they meet the highest technical standards while managing project delivery. You’ll also have the opportunity to mentor and inspire the next generation of engineers, sharing your expertise to help them grow into future leaders.
Responsibilities
* Design and deliver critical substation infrastructure underpinning the transmission network.
* Lead complex substation designs, ensuring highest technical standards.
* Manage project delivery, meeting deadlines and budgets.
* Mentor and coach emerging engineers, fostering future leadership.
Qualifications
* Strong fundamentals in substation engineering design.
* Proven experience designing high voltage substation infrastructure in a collaborative team environment.
* Knowledge and experience with engineering design platforms such as ETAP, DIgSILENT PowerFactory or similar.
* Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to lead and inspire a multidisciplinary team.
* Ability to manage client expectations and build strong relationships.
* Project management expertise and experience integrating complex systems.
* Consultancy experience is advantageous but not essential.
* Leadership experience in networking to drive and grow a substation portfolio.
