The Opportunity
We're looking for an Enterprise Architect to join our Melbourne IT team in a newly created role with real influence across the organisation.
This role operates across four equally weighted pillars:
* Design & Govern – Define architecture vision, standards, patterns, and roadmaps across all domains.
* Build & Deliver – Stay hands‐on, design complex solutions, lead proofs of concept, and solve deep technical challenges.
* Educate & Uplift – Share knowledge and lift capability across the IT team.
* Advise & Influence – Support strategic technology decisions and guide investment and vendor direction.
Responsibilities
* Define and maintain enterprise architecture vision, principles, standards, and roadmap aligned with strategy defined by the CDIO.
* Run architecture governance reviewing initiatives, vendors, and changes for alignment.
* Maintain architecture standards, including patterns, reference designs, and guardrails.
* Define application architecture standards for build, buy, integration, API, and data exchange.
* Provide architecture oversight for delivery teams, ensuring DevSecOps and Azure alignment.
* Lead knowledge‐sharing sessions across architecture, platforms, and emerging tech.
* Advise the CDIO on architectural strategy, investment, vendors, and technology trends.
* Produce architecture roadmaps, risk assessments, and exec‐ready presentations.
Requirements
* 8+ years in IT architecture, infrastructure, or senior engineering roles; 3+ years in enterprise or solutions architecture.
* Broad experience across cloud, infrastructure, networking, security, and applications (hands‐on in at least three).
* Strong Microsoft Azure expertise, including landing zones, IaaS/PaaS, networking, Entra ID, and governance.
* Practical AI/ML design and implementation experience on Azure (Azure Foundry, and Cognitive Services), including building AI‐enabled solutions.
* Working knowledge of Microsoft 365, Dynamics 365, and Power Platform integration and architecture.
* Hands‐on experience with VMware and hybrid cloud environments.
* Application development and architecture experience in client‐server and web delivered architectures.
* Practical ESB implementation and optimisation experience.
