The Vestas APAC Power Systems Performance Analysis team is dedicated to coordinating, managing, and conducting in-depth power systems analysis related to the grid connection aspects of wind power plant projects. This analysis spans the complete lifecycle of these projects, including sales, construction, and service phases. The team uses Vestas' products to assess plant performance against grid code requirements, ensuring optimal functionality and compliance.
The team collaborates closely with global and regional cross-functional teams within Vestas, including Electrical Simulation Models, Converter Control, EBoP, SCADA, Technical Grid Management, and Grid Execution. These collaborations aim to deliver competitive and compliant solutions, driving innovation and excellence in renewable energy.
Responsibilities:
Develop wind farm control system functional design specifications and reactive power plant requirements.
Model and simulate Wind and Hybrid Power Plants, including PV and Battery Energy Storage systems.
Review and assess the performance, efficiency, and reliability of balance of plant systems specific to renewable energy projects.
Identify and resolve issues within balance of plant systems, including diagnosing problems, root cause analysis, and coordinating with teams.
Review BoP design, drawings, and documents from subcontractors against industry standards and Vestas' contractual requirements from a grid connection perspective.
Liaise with stakeholders to resolve grid connection issues promptly.
Participate in investigations related to wind farm technical performance and prepare formal responses.
Contribute to process improvement initiatives.
Maintain records, prepare reports, and document grid connection activities and milestones.
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in power systems with 2-5 years of industry experience.
Competencies:
Proficiency in PSCAD, PSS/E, and DIgSILENT PowerFactory.
Experience with small signal analysis tools such as SSAT is advantageous.
Experience developing Python automation scripts for power system analysis tools.
Ability to interpret complex grid code requirements.
Analytical mindset with problem-solving skills.
Attention to detail and ability to work under deadlines.
Experience in wind or renewable industries is preferred.
