Responsibilities
* Manage a portfolio of Complex SME Property and Casualty claims (reasonable volume 120-160) in a proactive, efficient, cost-effective manner, while delivering high-quality service to customers.
* Develop commercial relationships with internal and external stakeholders, including brokers and customers.
* Resolve claims within your authority in a cost-effective manner, ensuring accuracy of indemnity, liability, and quantum, and drive matters to finalisation.
* Take a proactive approach to claims management, determining indemnity, liability, and quantum at the earliest juncture with a view to actioning matter to finalisation.
* Manage external service providers retained by AIG or the insured to ensure cost-effective outcomes and compliance with agreed service commitments.
* Build and maintain good relationships with colleagues, other AIG personnel, clients, brokers, sponsors and other external parties.
What you'll need to succeed
* Demonstrated experience as a Liability and/or Property Claims examiner.
* Potentially a Junior Lawyer in Private Practice seeking to work for an insurer.
* Strong communication skills with the ability to adapt as needed.
* Problem solving skills with strategic planning and execution capabilities.
* Ability to drive outcomes in a proactive manner.
* Ability to work autonomously but within a team environment.
* Appreciation of different stakeholders' interests both internally and externally, with a willingness to assist as required.
* Open-minded, inclusive and reasonable in dealings with all claims-related parties.
