Seeking a skilled Senior Java Software Engineer to join our Federal Government Client.
Initial 12-month contract with extension.
Sydney based.
Hybrid work flexibility: 2-3 days on-site / 2 days WFH.
Baseline Security Clearance or higher is mandatory.
The successful candidate will play a key role in delivering reliable, scalable systems while proactively managing technical risks, system performance, and platform availability.
This role requires Australian citizenship.
Key Responsibilities
* Delivering high-quality pipeline and API code aligned to approved designs and industry best practice implementations.
* Technical release coordination within the team for weekly releases and to all clients for cut-over releases.
* Proactive management of potential API outages to internal and external clients.
* Performing other tasks as required by the team to meet business objectives.
Required Skills
* 5-8+ years of strong experience as a Senior Java Developer/Software Engineer with expertise in SQL and NoSQL.
* Experience working with Data Platforms and Big Data technologies, including Apache Spark, Kafka, and Elasticsearch.
* Hands-on experience with Kubernetes orchestration and containerised environments.
* Experience with DevOps practices and CI/CD pipelines, including hands-on use of Jenkins.
* Degree in Computer Science or equivalent.
* Government or Federal experience is plus.
