Staff Development Nurse

Location: South Hedland (WACHS – Pilbara)
Employment: Permanent – Full Time (76 hours per fortnight)
Salary: $109,599 – $115,682 p.a. plus 12% superannuation.
Position Profile
In collaboration with the Clinical Nurse Managers and the Pilbara Population Health Unit management team, the Staff Development Nurse plans, implements and evaluates education and training relevant to the clinical practice of the designated clinical area. The role provides appropriate clinical support and delivers training and education for community health nurses and other staff as appropriate. Responsibilities include orientation and clinical education to promote the development of culturally appropriate clinical competencies for all nursing staff, particularly newly qualified and junior nurses. The position also supports and facilitates undergraduate and postgraduate nurses in accordance with education institution agreements.
Qualifications and Experience
* Clinical knowledge and experience in the delivery of evidence‐based nursing care in a primary health setting, and ability to act as a clinical resource for the development of other staff.
* Knowledge and understanding of cultural factors and social determinants, particularly relating to Aboriginal health.
* Knowledge and application of adult learning principles for the facilitation of learning, teaching and training of groups or individuals.
* Effective written and verbal communication, interpersonal, negotiation and conflict resolution skills, with the ability to liaise effectively with clients, individuals and other team members.
* Demonstrated computer literacy and ability to utilise information systems.
* Immunisation certification and demonstrated experience/knowledge in providing immunisation services.
