About The Role
Royal Prince Alfred is the principal teaching hospital of the University of Sydney and offers speciality services from its main campus as well as from Institute of Rheumatology and Orthopaedics, Chris O’Brien Lifehouse and Dame Edith Walker Hospitals. RPAH is one of Australia's leading hospitals, providing an extensive range of diagnostic and treatment services. Its specialities include cardiology, obstetrics and gynaecology, cancer, respiratory medicine, neurology, liver and kidney transplants.
The Nursing Unit Manager role is accountable for the operational bed management, access and patient flow through Royal Prince Alfred hospital (RPAH) on a day to day basis. The role responsible for providing strong leadership, advanced analytical and negotiation skills.
The Nursing Unit Manager role is responsible for timely escalation of patient flow issues to the Nurse Manager Patient Flow l and executive unit after hours.
The Nursing Unit Manager Level 2 responsibilities in relation to patient services, ward or unit management and staff management are in excess of those of a Nursing Unit Manager Level 1.

Ideal Candidate
Current unencumbered Registration with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA).Experience in rostering: managing skill mix and care delivery models according to patient services.Advanced communication and negotiation skills and experience in conflict resolution.Ability to work across a rotating roster.
