* Rural Generalist - Year 1 - 6:$550,859.38 - $684,457.01*
*Inclusive of base salary, 12% superannuationand PD allowance.

About the Roles
The roles are vital in deliveringcomprehensive health services across the East Kimberley. The regionprovides primary health care to several remote Aboriginalcommunities, with clinicians regularly undertaking scheduledoutreach visits. These visits are shared among permanent DMOs.Obstetric services are also delivered to Halls Creek through amonthly visit. Based primarily at Kununurra Hospital, yourresponsibilities will extend to Warmun, Halls Creek, Kalumburu, andWyndham, with approximately 80% of your time spent in Kununurra andthe remaining 20% dedicated to outreach in surroundingcommunities.
You will never be alone in this remotesetting. These roles are supported by an exceptional andcollaborative clinical team. Clinicians in this service support oneanother while managing some of the most challenging and rewardingpresentations in rural medicine. A doctor is always on site, withshared responsibilities across wards, emergency, clinics, andremote primary care. You'll also have access to residentspecialists in person or via telehealth and the WACHS CommandCentre offer support with rapid care coordination and teamleadership.
Even at 3,500 km from the nearest tertiarycentre, clinicians are never unsupported.

District Medical Officer - Procedural(Obstetrics):
* Provide high acuityemergency care, including thrombolysis for cardiac arrest postSTEMI, emergency caesarean sections for unexpectedpresentations, fracture reductions and the management ofcomplex lacerations.•
* Deliver comprehensivematernity care, including antenatal and postnatal servicesthrough weekly clinics, neonatal resuscitation for growthrestricted infants and timely response to obstetricemergencies and acute care in collaboration with the hospitalteam.
* Participate in on-callrosters for maternity and general medical services,ensuring continuity of care across the region.
* Lead and support themultidisciplinary maternity team, including midwives, fosteringa safe and collaborative clinical environment.
* Utilise telehealth toconsult with specialist colleagues and provide additionalsupport to remote patients.
District Medical Officer – Non-Procedural(Emergency Medicine):
* Provide general medicalcare to patients at Kununurra hospital and across surroundingremote communities.
* Lead multidisciplinaryclinical teams and offer mentorship and support to juniormedical staff.
* espond to emergencypresentations and deliver high quality acute inpatientcare across a broad scope of practice.
* Participate in on-callrosters in line with role classification, ensuringcontinuity of emergency and general medicalservices.
* Utilise telehealth toconsult with specialist colleagues and provide additionalsupport to remote patients.

The Successful Candidates for DMO –Non-Procedural & DMO – Procedural (Obstetrics)will:
* Holdspecialistregistration with the Medical Board of Australia withoutrestrictions.
* Hold fellowship of theRoyal Australian College of General Practitioners, or theAustralian College of Rural and Remote Medicine.
* Formal post graduatequalification in obstetrics or equivalent extensiveexperience.
* A record of appropriateEmergency Department skill maintenance in the lasttriennium of completion of at least 1 of the following andevidence of continued professionaldevelopment:
o ACLS (orequivalent)
o APLS (orequivalent)
o EMST (orequivalent)
o GCCA (orequivalent).
* Substantial experienceworking in a cross-cultural environment particularly withAboriginal people, a high-level understanding of IndigenousHealth issues is essential.
Please note: this position does not havecapacity to support supervision for trainees or SIMGs. Candidatesmust be able to practise independently without clinicalsupervision.

Kununurra District Hospital primarilyoperates under the guidance of General Practitioners and DistrictMedical Officers. It offers a total of 32 inpatient beds andextends its reach by providing clinics and telephone support toWyndham and Halls Creek Hospitals, as well as to the Warman andKalumburu communities. Kununurra delivers around 120 babies anddoes around 500 surgeries a year.
