What you\'ll be doing
In this role, you will:
* Lead the design and delivery of strategic communications and engagement initiatives for key infrastructure projects.
* Partner with project teams to turn complex technical information into accessible, engaging messages for the public.
* Build lasting relationships with stakeholders, from contractors and councils to community groups and local businesses.
* Develop and deliver a wide range of content—from media releases and newsletters to social media campaigns—that resonates with diverse audiences.
* Provide expert advice to senior leaders and project managers on best practice communication approaches.
* Anticipate issues, manage risks, and ensure information flows clearly and consistently to all stakeholders.
About you
You're a confident communicator who thrives in dynamic, fast-moving environments. You know how to balance creativity with strategy, and you're equally comfortable writing a press release, running a community information session, or advising executives.
To succeed, you'll bring:
* Demonstrated experience in communications, engagement, or public relations (government or infrastructure experience highly regarded).
* A knack for making complex ideas easy to understand and engaging for all audiences.
* Strong stakeholder management skills, with the ability to engage and influence diverse groups.
* Excellent writing and editing skills, backed by sound judgement and political awareness.
* A proactive approach to problem-solving, with the ability to adapt quickly when priorities shift.
Tertiary qualifications in Communications, Public Relations or a related discipline are desirable. IAP2 certification will be highly regarded.
