The Role

Set on beautifully landscaped gardens, Classic Residences in Brighton East provides exquisite surrounds and exceptional facilities in a place where community spirit thrives.

A genuinely rewarding opportunity has become available for a customer-focused and reliable Personal Care Attendant to join the team on a casual basis.

The successful candidate will be providing customer service, comfort, and support to our residents when they need it most.

Responsibilities

* Supporting resident wellbeing by promoting independence, choice, and dignity within the village community
* Building positive, respectful relationships with residents to enhance their quality of life and sense of belonging
* Observing, monitoring, and reporting any changes in resident health, wellbeing, or behaviour to the Village Manager or relevant team member
* Providing medication prompting in accordance with organisational policies and procedures
* Conducting regular pastoral and welfare checks to ensure resident comfort and safety
* Responding to resident enquiries and assisting with meal delivery where required
* Maintaining a respectful, safe, and supportive environment for all residents
* Responding to call outs and initiating emergency services where required
* Undertaking first aid where required
* Assisting with our colourful village events
* Providing assistance with miscellaneous tasks around the village, as directed by manager

Shifts

Applicants must be flexible and available to work a variety of shifts throughout the week.

Shifts will include a mix of day and afternoon shifts that will continue onto an overnight (sleepover) shift. There will also be additional shifts on weekends. Additional assistance will be required for leave coverage.

About You

A professional and positive approach is required at all times to ensure that all residents' needs are met, as well as having the following:

* Certificate III in Individual Support (Ageing), or an equivalent qualification
* Proven competence and experience in a similar role within Retirement living or Aged Care
* Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to engage effectively with a diverse community
* Exceptional interpersonal skills with a bubbly, approachable personality that helps build trust and rapport with residents, families, and team members
* A current First Aid & CPR Certificate (or be willing to obtain)
* Have strong organisational skills, with the ability to manage and prioritise multiple tasks effectively
* The ability to remain calm and respond appropriately in emergency situations
* Be highly motivated and able to take initiative
* Have basic computer skills

Requirements

The successful applicant must complete a Police Check and be required to receive an annual flu vaccination between the months of May - November, with supporting documentation prior to joining. For selected role, pre‐employment medical assessments will also be required prior to any employment offers being made.
