Maintenance Officer
* Full-time position | located in Fletcher
* 8:00am- 4:00pm
* $62,308 per year
About the role
Bishop Tyrrell Anglican College is looking for a Maintenance Officer to undertake maintenance duties, including repairs, painting, minor construction and alteration works, gardening and grounds works, and general handyman duties. They are responsible for ensuring all equipment and premises are maintained in a safe and sound condition and that all duties carried out by the team are done in a professional manner.
Tasks & responsibilities
* Gardening tasks – planting, pruning, fertilising, watering, mulching and weeding garden areas
* Regular sweeping, rubbish removal, blower vacuuming and/or hosing
* Minor repairs of equipment and furniture, painting, moving items of furniture and classroom supplies
* Daily security routines (including unlocking gates for entry and securing the site at end of day)
* Maintaining a safe environment for all students, staff and visitors
* Assisting with the set‐up of events and functions

Qualifications & experience
* Minimum of 2 years maintenance experience
* Experience driving a LR bus (LR Licence)
* Demonstrated capacity to communicate effectively in a team environment, including high-level oral and written communication skills
* Demonstrated capacity to provide advice and support to management and other school staff with respect to work area
* Attention to detail
* Experience working outdoors
* Knowledge and understanding of safety requirements and regulations
* Demonstrated experience in cleaning and maintenance
* Demonstrated capability and capacity to perform the physical and technical tasks and duties specific to the role
* NSW Working with Children Check
* National Criminal History Check (consideration of relevance of any reported outcomes)

Desirable
* Qualifications in Safety, Horticulture, Maintenance or Cleaning
