Description Guardian Australia is part of Guardian News & Media (GNM), publisher of theguardian.com. As a leading global media organisation, we are renowned for our pioneering independent journalism and our award-winning digital products. We are seeking a multimedia producer to join our Editorial team to edit hosted vertical videos as part of Guardian Australia’s off-platform offerings, and to work in consultation with multimedia editors to take Guardian Australia journalism to new audiences off-platform in creative and engaging ways. This role is being offered on a full-time 12 month contract, with early starts and/or late finishes. This role is open to candidates based in Sydney or Melbourne. In this role you will… Edit hosted short-form videos for TikTok, Instagram, Youtube Shorts and Linkedin Pitch and create compelling video and static content for social platforms including Instagram, YouTube, TikTok and LinkedIn, with approval and sign off from multimedia editors Work with Guardian Australia’s video editors to produce high-quality video reports for onsite and other social channels Use Adobe Premiere Pro to a high standard to edit accurately and quickly for audiences onsite, on YouTube and on our social media platforms Source breaking/reactive news videos from news agencies and social platforms, and work with multimedia team to produce packages Work with Guardian’s off-platform team to create social stories and content to build engagement and retention with Guardian readers Work with the Guardian’s audio team to promote Guardian Australia’s flagship podcast Full Story on social channels Suggest and write headlines, standfirsts and thumbnails for onsite and social videos Be an active user of social media channels to ensure Guardian Australia stays up-to-date with best practice and trends where appropriate Work with the legal and rights teams as required You’ll bring….
