**About the facility**

Located in The Douglas Hocking Research Institute of The University Hospital Geelong the Bone Density Department provides a specialised scanning service to over 7,000 patients per annum. The provision of a quality service with a strong customer focus ensures the Department is the leading bone density service in the Barwon and southwest region.

**About the role**

As an effective member in a busy team environment, the Receptionist/Administration Officer is responsible for providing confidential administrative support to the Bone Density Department.

Duties include but are not limited to:

- Providing a welcoming and inclusive environment to all patients and visitors
- Answering the telephone to address queries and book appointments
- Registering patient attendance
- Raising accounts in line with Medicare criteria and billing patients accordingly
- End-of-day banking
- Preparation of files and patient lists for daily clinics
- Distribution of patient results
- Liaising with patients, hospital staff, GPs and Specialists

Excellent computer skills, the ability to organise and adapt to changing demands, exceptional communication skills, and an empathetic disposition towards patients are essential requirements if you wish to excel in this role.

Desirable: Previous experience working in a hospital/health setting
Essential: Ability to be flexible with hours and take on additional shifts as required
