Accounting Expertise Opportunity
As a key member of the Finance team, you'll play a vital role in shaping the future of air travel through precision and technical expertise. We're seeking an experienced accounting professional to provide maternity leave coverage for 18 months.
Key Responsibilities:
* Lead and perform month-end close activities for assigned portfolios and entities, including preparing and posting complex journals, and performing detailed balance sheet reconciliations.
* Prepare technical financial statement notes and supporting schedules for quarterly, half-year, and year-end financial reports.
* Liaise with internal stakeholders and external auditors to coordinate deliverables, resolve queries, and provide supporting documentation.
* Research and apply accounting standards requirements to your work, keeping up to date with the latest developments.
* Assist with reviewing and providing guidance on work prepared by more junior members of the team.
Requirements:
* 5+ years’ experience in financial accounting or external audit, with practical, hands-on experience preparing journals, reconciliations, and financial reporting deliverables.
* Strong technical understanding of Australian accounting standards and demonstrated ability to apply them in practice.
* Exposure to treasury or financial instruments accounting (e.g., debt, derivatives, hedge accounting) is highly regarded.
* CA/CPA qualified (essential).
* Advanced Excel and ERP system experience (Oracle or similar).
* Analytical and detail-oriented, with the ability to work independently and apply professional judgement.
* Strong communication and stakeholder management skills, able to coordinate inputs across Treasury, FP&A, and Tax teams.
