Job Details
The Specified Personnel will be responsible for providing the following deliverables including but not limited to:
- Leading the design, development and optimisation of data integration solutions, including APIs, ETL pipelines, data services and near real time streaming;
- Providing technical oversight and governance of cloud sourced data integration platforms, ensuring performance, security and scalability standards are met;
- Overseeing ingestion, processing, monitoring and distribution of geospatial data feeds, ensuring data quality, accuracy and alignment with organisational standards;
- Collaborating with solution architects, developers, data engineers, and business stakeholders to deliver end to end integration solution;
- Troubleshooting and resolving integration issues, providing root cause analysis and preventative recommendations and innovations;
- Ensuring integration solutions comply with enterprise architecture, data governance, and cyber security frameworks;
- Coordinating release and Continuous Integration/Deployment (CI/CD) using Agile delivery practices;
- Developing and maintaining data integration components such as SQL queries, stored procedures, data extraction and cleansing, and integration with system front end components;
- Working with outsourced cloud vendor in designing, developing and implementing geospatial platform solutions as well as coordinating deployment of various components as required;
- Being part of the 24x7 support team. Providing out of hours support, including a requirement to be on call, on a rostered basis. This entails:
- Specified Personnel to be available, and in the ‘required state of readiness’ to perform extra duty outside of standard business hours.
- The ‘required state of readiness’ includes the requirement for Specified Personnel to:
- Respond within 30 minutes and be able to start an investigation into out-of-hours incidents.
- Maintain compliance with the Department’s Professional Standards and Integrity Framework, which includes but is not limited to, ensuring services are not performed whilst impaired by any legal or illegal drugs and alcohol.
- Specified Personnel will be provided with a mobile telephone with on call.
Specified Personnel will be expected to transfer skills and knowledge to departmental staff and ensure appropriate documentation is stored in accordance with the Department’s recordkeeping policy and practices.
The Specified Personnel will be responsible for producing the following deliverables, including but not limited to:
- Functional design and interface specifications;
- Mediation flows that document business interface and technical design documentation and specifications;
- Capacity and forecast plans for integration platforms and database storage systems; Deployment plans;
- Technical handover documents.
All deliverables performed by the specified personnel must:
- be performed or delivered promptly and without delay in accordance with the timeframes notified by the buyer from time to time; and
- meet the assessment and performance criteria set out in any monitoring and performance assessment processes notified by the seller from time to time.
Technical skills
Strong technical skills in writing Web Services, RESTFUL, or SOAP as well as experience writing fault-tolerance code, data modelling, data integration design and development, solid knowledge of AWS cloud platform. Hands‑on experience with enterprise geospatial platform(s) along with relevant data services and formats.
