Position Summary
To oversee and site‐manage all Capital Projects, from HSEQ through to QA compliance, run daily pre‐start meetings, subcontractor management, daily inspections and scope/review work when required. Key Responsibilities
* Promotes a positive safety and environmental culture.
* Ensures compliance with all Service Streams management system procedures, including Plant Operator Assessments and verification of Daily and Weekly Checklists, and works with permits where required.
* Delivers toolboxes, briefings and findings as and when required.
* Participates in the preparation of Safe Work Method Statements with work crews and ensures all controls are effectively implemented and regularly reviewed.
* Immediately acts on the resolution of issues as directed by Delivery Managers and HSEQ personnel.
* Responds to ongoing communication with project personnel to control and anticipate issues.
* Monitors plant safety and identifies safety hazards in respect of plant.
* Ensures all personnel are inducted and have been toolbox‐ed in the Safe Work Method Statements and have participated in a meeting for that activity.
* Demonstrates an understanding of incident prevention and reporting, and participates in incident investigation.
* Reports all incidents to Management in line with procedures and provides appropriate support.
* Encourages and educates people to report potential safety hazards.
* Leads by example by meeting own safety KPIs whilst ensuring project team members and subcontractor supervisors also meet their safety KPIs.
* Ensures all construction works undertaken and completed are in conformance with the specification and relevant standards and Code of Practice.
* Checks that Hold and Witness Points are performed prior to commencing work.
* Demonstrates awareness of cost allowances before commencing activities.
* Keeps accurate site records to calculate and verify costs regarding variations and claims.
* Maintains co‐operative working relationships with all parties, particularly DIT representatives, and takes prompt action on DIT directions directed by Delivery Managers.
Qualifications
Demonstrated significant years of experience in the construction or services industry and safety management in a major subcontractor management role. Minimum of five years experience in a roads infrastructure environment (open for discussion based on experience). Minimum of five years experience in managing people and/or multiple stakeholders (open for discussion based on experience). Cert I, II or III in Construction (desirable but not mandatory). Current driver's licence.
