And it’s why we need people like YOU. Come shape our future with us and make a real and lasting impact across our teams.
Your opportunity
We have an opportunity in a newly shaped Project Manager role in our Operations and Maintenance group.
We are seeking an experienced and motivated Project Manager to lead the successful planning, coordination and delivery of high-volume maintenance programs within our water and wastewater business. Working within our Maintenance Program Delivery team, you will manage a portfolio of planned works, ensuring programs are effectively scoped, prioritised, scheduled and delivered in line with Urban Utilities’ Asset Management Framework.
This is not a single project role; it’s a program focused position that requires you to look across multiple concurrent activities, drive consistency, and ensure our maintenance programs deliver the right outcomes at the right time. You’ll work across Operations & Maintenance, Delivery Partners and internal technical teams to provide visibility, governance and structure to our annual maintenance program, ensuring it is executed safely, efficiently and with strong alignment to organisational needs.
This role is ideal for someone who thrives in a fast‑paced operational environment, enjoys working collaboratively with technical stakeholders, and is passionate about driving continuous improvement to enhance value for our customers and communities.
About You
You’re a natural program coordinator with the ability to manage complexity and keep multiple streams of work moving. You understand how maintenance programs operate at scale, and you enjoy bringing order, structure and clarity to quick‑paced operational environments.
Your strengths include the ability to evaluate program performance, identify inefficiencies, and turn complex data into actionable insights that can be used to uplift delivery outcomes.
What we’re looking for
- Bachelor’s degree in Project Management, Engineering, Science, Finance, IT or related field (desirable).
- Project management qualifications or progression toward PMP (advantageous).
- Minimum 3 years’ experience in project delivery, ideally within utilities, construction or civil/maintenance environments.
- Knowledge of project management methodologies, scheduling, cost control and risk management.
- Well‑developed communication skills for engaging field crews, delivery partners and internal technical stakeholders.
