About The Role
Calvary Riverina Hospital is looking for an enthusiastic Cook with a passion for the hospitality industry to join our busy team on a casual (as needed) basis. The role involves delivering a positive outcome for patients within the scope of Food Services by producing meals for in‐house patients, staff, and visitors, managing stock control, ensuring food & workplace safety, and maintaining compliance with local and national food safety requirements. The Cook will adhere to any additional requirements and requests directed by the head Chef or Hospitality Services Manager.
Key Responsibilities
* Assist with the catering service to meet patient food requirements, including food preparation, storage, hygiene, distribution and serving meals.
* Specialise in modified foods and apply advanced techniques.
* Follow written protocols for special dietary requests.
* Assist with menu preparation.
* Follow food safety plan and legislative guidelines.
* Adhere to infection control, manual handling, and WHS procedures.
* Maintain efficient and open communication.
What You Bring
* 5 years of relevant industry experience.
* Certificate III in Commercial Cookery is desirable.
* Ability to work independently as well as in a team environment.
* Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively.
* Experience in a hospital‐based kitchen setting is desirable.
* A desire to join a team committed to the care of others in a mission‐based organisation.
