Position Overview
We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced ISR Underwriter to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for managing a portfolio of insurance policies, ensuring profitability and growth while maintaining strong relationships with our clients and underwriters.
Key Responsibilities
* Develop and maintain relationships with brokers to ensure quality service and profitable business growth
* Evaluate and underwrite insurance policies in accordance with company guidelines and risk appetite
* Analyze and interpret data to determine risk levels and appropriate coverage
* Negotiate terms and conditions with underwriters to achieve the best possible outcomes for our clients
* Monitor and review policy performance and make recommendations for adjustments as needed
* Stay up-to-date with industry trends and changes in regulations to ensure compliance and inform decision making
* Collaborate with other team members to develop and implement strategies for business growth and retention
* Provide exceptional customer service to clients, responding to inquiries and resolving issues in a timely and professional manner
* Maintain accurate and organized records of policies, correspondence, and other relevant information
* Participate in training and development opportunities to continuously improve knowledge and skills in insurance underwriting
Qualifications and Skills
* Minimum of 3 years of experience in insurance property underwriting, preferably in the Queensland market
* Strong knowledge of insurance products, underwriting principles, and risk assessment
* Excellent communication and negotiation skills
* Proven ability to build and maintain relationships with clients and underwriters
* Detail-oriented with strong analytical and problem-solving skills
* Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment
* Proficient in Microsoft Office and other relevant software
* Insurance industry certifications (e.g. ANZIIF) are an asset
