Ballarat Clarendon College is seeking a Head of Campus, Yuulong
As the Head of Campus, you are responsible for the overall leadership, safety, wellbeing and educational integrity of the Yuulong program at our campus on the Great Ocean Road.
Our Yuulong program is a term-long residential experience for our Year 9 students.
Our Yuulong Campus is situated on a hilltop overlooking the Southern Ocean on the Great Ocean Road, providing a unique opportunity to work with students as they develop their identity and manage themselves at practical and emotional levels.
At Yuulong, life and learning focus on identity, self‐management and relationships. Development happens through every interaction and the most challenging experiences result in the greatest progress.
Our students participate in a wide variety of activities centred on building and maintaining sustainable communities, fostering connections and the development of lifelong health and wellbeing habits. Staff participate alongside them as they learn to cook, hike, camp, surf and snorkel.
The Yuulong program is designed to build confidence, develop outdoor skills and support students' transition into adult life.
As Head of Campus, you will lead and actively participate in delivering the program. This includes leading multi‐day hikes, coastal immersion experiences, managing rosters and overseeing staff performance.
The campus offers an active, hands‐on environment ideal for those who enjoy the outdoors. The role involves leading and participating in activities such as camping, hiking, swimming, surfing and cycling, supporting students and contributing to rich, experiential learning in a variety of conditions.

Key Selection Criteria
* Proven leadership in outdoor education, with strong risk assessment capabilities
* Relevant qualifications in Teaching, Outdoor Education or Wellbeing
* Knowledge of Child Safe Standards and a demonstrated commitment to upholding themExperience in people leadership, including team management
* Ability to provide real‐time feedback to students
* Commitment to continuous improvement in and beyond the classroom
* Strong time management and ability to handle competing priorities
* Excellent communication and interpersonal skills across the school communityDemonstrated physical capacity to safely facilitate, supervise and actively participate in physically demanding outdoor activities, including camping, hiking, swimming, surfing and cycling, across varied terrain and in often unpredictable weather conditions, while maintaining effective supervision, judgement and duty of care for students
Formal Qualifications or Willingness to Obtain
o Wilderness First Aid
o Light/Medium bus driving licence
o Community Surf Lifesaving Certificate or Bronze Medallion
o Fitness for duties medical assessment
