Role Description
The General Practitioner will provide comprehensive primary care to patients of all ages, including assessment, diagnosis, and management of acute and chronic conditions. Day-to-day responsibilities include conducting consultations, prescribing medications, ordering and interpreting investigations, performing basic procedures, and coordinating care with nurses, allied health professionals, and specialists. The role involves preventive care, health education, chronic disease management, and participation in care planning for individuals and families. The General Practitioner will also contribute to practice quality initiatives, accurate clinical documentation, and adherence to current clinical guidelines and regulatory requirements. This is an on-site role based in Brisbane, QLD, within the Bracken Ridge Family Practice clinic.
Qualifications
* Strong clinical skills in Medicine and Primary Care, with experience managing a broad range of presentations in a general practice setting.
* Background in Family Medicine, with a focus on continuity of care, chronic disease management, and preventive health.
* Ability to collaborate effectively with Nursing staff and other healthcare professionals to deliver coordinated, patient-centered care.
* Commitment to ongoing Training, professional development, and staying current with evidence-based guidelines.
* Relevant medical degree and full registration (or eligibility for registration) with the appropriate medical board in Australia.
* Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with a respectful, inclusive approach to patients from diverse backgrounds.
* Sound clinical judgment, time management skills, and the ability to work both independently and within a multidisciplinary team.
* Experience with electronic medical records and familiarity with general practice billing and compliance requirements is advantageous.
