**Assistant Category Manager - Poultry**
We have an exciting prospect for an experienced Assistant Category Manager to join our team.
This role is responsible for delivering a range that is simple to shop and enhances our customers' perceptions of our value, quality and innovation whilst delivering to target on sales growth profitability and market share.
The primary responsibilities of an Assistant Category Manager include, however, will not be limited to:
- Buying focus, with an emphasis on project management across a number of cross-functional initiatives, such as Reviews, Promotional Strategy, and bringing new products to market
- Further developing our strategic supplier relationships through effective communication and negotiation
- Increase sales and profit through the implementation of strategic program initiatives
- Using your analytical skills and understanding of customer insights to make informed decisions
- Delivering optimum ranges via a planned review schedule, offering a choice that is store tailored, reflective of the category roles, incorporates changing customer trends and utilises focused customer insight
- Identifying new, customer-led, product opportunities and bringing these into the range
- Negotiating commercials with suppliers around the cost of goods, promotional & marketing funding
- Ensuring ranges are easy to shop and merchandise, improve customer availability and improve sales and profitability.
**About You**
We are looking for an Assistant Category Manager who is looking to join a strong team of performers in a key category within our supermarkets. You will be comfortable in working with a large number of suppliers and will enjoy bringing new ideas to this high potential category.

To be successful you will have:
- Previous buying experience or exposure to commercial buying
- Sound commercial acumen
- Be customer-centric and able to develop a customer-focused plan
- Demonstrated the ability to negotiate and influence with cross-functional and external stakeholders
- Innovation and continuous improvement-focused mentality
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- The ability to use customer insights and data to make strategic and commercial business decisions
- Proven ability to deliver against KPIs within previous roles
