Mattel ANZ are seeking a Key Account Representative to join our Sales team! This role plays an important part in managing a key retail portfolio, driving sales performance and delivering strong commercial outcomes across Mattel's iconic portfolio of brands.
This is an exciting opportunity for a commercially minded sales professional who enjoys building strong customer relationships, analysing performance trends, and identifying opportunities to grow market share. You'll work cross-functionally with internal teams and retail partners to execute business plans, optimise promotional performance, and deliver results in a fast-paced environment.
This role is on a 12 month contract for a parental leave backfill.
As a Key Account Representative you will be responsible for:
* Managing a key customer to achieve sales, profit, inventory, and market share targets.
* Developing and executing sales and promotional plans in collaboration with Marketing, Finance, Customer Marketing, and Operations teams.
* Managing trade spend and co-op advertising budgets to maximise commercial outcomes.
* Monitoring sales performance, analysing trends, and identifying opportunities and risks across the category.
* Maintaining forecasting models and aligning retailer forecasts with Mattel systems and inventory planning processes.
* Supporting category range reviews and presenting recommendations to retail buyers.
* Partnering closely with customers to build strong, ongoing business relationships.
* Collaborating with Supply Chain and Operations teams to support efficient stock flow and speed to market execution.
* Participating in business planning discussions and contributing insights on product performance, pricing, distribution, and promotional effectiveness.
* Monitoring competitor and industry activity to support strategic decision making and incremental business growth.
Experience, knowledge and skills we think the right candidate will hold:
* Tertiary qualifications in commerce, business, marketing, or a related discipline are advantageous.
* 3+ years' experience in sales, account management, or customer-facing commercial roles, ideally within FMCG, consumer goods, or retail environments.
* Strong commercial, analytical, and financial acumen.
* Excellent planning, organisational, and forecasting skills with strong attention to detail.
* Advanced Excel and reporting capability with confidence analysing sales performance data.
* Strong communication, presentation, negotiation, and stakeholder management skills.
* Proactive, adaptable, and solutions-focused, with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deliver results.
