Altona location, close to public transport. 2x permanent, fulltime positions available. Salary: Band 3 - $65,546.09 to $69,801.01 + superannuation + fortnightly RDO.

The opportunity
As a Sports Team Member you'll play a hands on role in keeping Council's sports fields safe, welcoming and match ready. Working outdoors as part of a supportive team, you'll carry out routine and reactive maintenance, assist with seasonal turf programs and help prepare fields for training, games and events. This on‐the‐ground role is perfect for someone who enjoys practical work, teamwork and seeing the results of their efforts every day.
What you'll do
* Maintaining sports fields and surrounds through routine and reactive maintenance
* Assisting with seasonal turf programs, line marking and event preparation
* Safely operating and maintaining plant, equipment and tools
* Identifying and reporting hazards, defects or safety issues
* Providing professional, friendly service to clubs, colleagues and the community
What you'll need to succeed
* Certificate 3 in Sports Turf Management, Horticulture or extensive practical experience
* Experience in sports field, parks, grounds or open space maintenance
* Ability to safely operate mowers, tractors, small plant and tools
* Sound understanding of workplace health and safety practices
* Good communication skills and a team focused, reliable approach

Pre-Employment Requirements
Progressed candidates will be required to complete a National Police Record Check, a Pre-Employment Medical Check & a Working With Children Check (WWCC). Candidates must also hold a valid Victorian Driver's License.
Applicants must be an Australian Citizen, Permanent Resident or hold a valid work permit or visa with full unrestricted working rights. Work eligibility will be checked as part of the recruitment process.
