About the role

Apart from the Salvation Army's Moneycare National Financial Counselling and Financial Capability program, we are looking for a values‐driven, proactive Financial Counsellor to deliver high‐quality financial counselling, casework, and client advocacy. The role is 4 days a week (part time) based in Goulburn, NSW, with a salary aligned to the SCHADS Award Level 5 (or Level 4 for an unaccredited Counsellor).

Responsibilities

* Establish effective relationships with community members that encourage self‐determination and participation.
* Continuously assess community member issues, needs and circumstances from initial contact to exit.
* Follow outcomes measurement survey processes.
* Develop individual case plans in collaboration with community members, including a range of interventions that address their needs or goals.
* Implement case plans with active community member participation.
* Assist clients to access support services, establish community supports, and provide advocacy with service providers and other external parties when needed.
* Regularly monitor and review the progress and outcomes of individual case plans, taking action to ensure the plan continues to meet relevant needs or goals.
* Maintain accurate, up‐to‐date records and data for all community members in accordance with TSA standards and procedures using TSA information systems (SAMIS).

Qualifications

* Accreditation as a Financial Counsellor or willingness to attain accreditation as soon as possible.
* Diploma of Community Services (Financial Counselling) or willingness to undertake study from outset.
* Degree qualifications or extensive experience in the fields of welfare, finance, community services, psychology or business.
* Current Employee Working with Children Check.
* Demonstrated ability to work with different cultures and backgrounds.
* Willingness to travel on occasion for training and development.
