Position Overview
Scotch College has an exciting opportunity for a dynamic, passionate and innovative educator to join our Senior School English team. The position is permanent, full‐time and expected to commence in Term 3, 2026 or as soon as available.
Key Responsibilities
* Teach secondary English (Year 9‐12) in General English, ATAR English and/or ATAR Literature, with openness to training for IB Diploma.
* Demonstrate outstanding practice in a secondary context and hold any recognised teaching qualification suitable for secondary English instruction.
* Apply rigorous pedagogical principles, including appropriate use of ICT skills and creative/critical thinking tools.
* Collaboratively support a high level of WA curriculum knowledge and impart this knowledge to students effectively.
* Manage pastoral needs of students and contribute to student wellbeing.
* Participate in the school's extensive programme of co‐curricular activities.
* Provide evidence of a current Working with Children Check (WWCC) and registration with the Teacher Registration Board of WA (TRBWA).
Qualifications & Requirements
* Qualifications in secondary English teaching with demonstrable outstanding practice in a secondary context (Year 9‐12).
* Any recognised teaching qualification suitable for secondary English instruction.
* Experience teaching General English, ATAR English and/or ATAR Literature; experience with IB Diploma desirable.
* High level of WA curriculum knowledge and ability to impart it effectively.
* Collaborative, flexible and team‐oriented.
* Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with colleagues, parents and students.
* Strong pastoral management skills.
