Volunteer Fire and Rescue Service volunteers play a significant and vital role in helping to ensure their local community is safe. Our brigade welcomes interest from new members, and we are keen to recruit volunteers who see themselves as Active Firefighters. We seek enthusiastic, and dedicated individuals willing to volunteer their time to assist the community. Volunteer firefighters carry out a range of activities including:
Volunteer Responsibilities
* Responding to local emergencies such as structure fires, bush and scrub fires, vehicle and industrial rescue, and hazardous material (HAZMAT) incidents
* Working with the community to identify and manage local fire risk
* Undertaking local fire prevention activities with the community

Commitment: Regular - more than 6 months
Type Of Work: Safety & Emergency Services
Time Required:
* Attend incidents in the local area and surrounds.
* Weekly training and equipment checks, approximately 2 hours per week.
* Attend monthly brigade meetings.
* Occasional weekend training & exercises throughout the year.
* Participate in community engagement events.
Training:
* New members are required to complete basic training prior to attending incidents.
* You will have the opportunity to be trained on various apparatus and in emergency procedures.
* All training and personal protective clothing & equipment is provided.
