Description
The Royal Flying Doctor Service (Queensland Section) (RFDS) is a leader in providing access to aeromedical and primary health care services to people in remote, rural, and regional locations. About the Role
As a B2 Licensed Aircraft Maintenance Engineer (LAME), you will support the 24/7 RFDS Queensland operation by ensuring all scheduled maintenance and fleet AOG defect rectifications are handled efficiently during peak periods. This role is crucial for maintaining the RFDS fleet of Beechcraft King Air aircraft, serving the people of Queensland.
This is a Permanent, Full-time position based at Rockhampton Airport, with some travel to other RFDS bases. If you’re considering relocating to Rockhampton – the Beef Capital – we offer relocation assistance.
Key Responsibilities
* Conduct weekly scheduled aircraft maintenance checks promptly, ensuring minimal impact on aircraft availability
* Troubleshoot and rectify daily line defects arising during flight operations
* Be available for after-hours AOG call-outs for fleet defect rectification across Queensland
* Manage, store, and use tooling and GSE in compliance with policies
* Participate in business improvement, quality programs, and risk management activities
* Adhere to all Occupational, Health, Safety & Welfare policies and procedures
Who We Are Looking For
To succeed in this role, you should have:
* CASA B2 Licenced Aircraft Maintenance Engineer
* Proven experience with RFDS QLD aircraft types
* Type rating on Beechcraft 300 series
* Excellent communication skills for liaising with internal and external stakeholders
* Strong attention to detail and accuracy
* Knowledge of regulatory requirements related to aircraft maintenance
Desirable Skills and Experience
* Maintenance control experience
* Supply chain management experience
