Key Transformation Role
This pivotal position oversees the advancement of key crop species in collaboration with an expert team. The incumbent will lead transformation projects and manage a team dedicated to driving innovation.
The role involves harnessing tissue culture and molecular biology techniques to spearhead plant synthetic biology experiments. Additionally, it entails collaborating with the Innovation Officer to develop novel service offerings and refine methodologies.
Main Responsibilities:
* Oversee transformation projects and direct a team focused on advancing key crop species
* Pioneer the application of tissue culture and molecular biology techniques in plant synthetic biology research
* Assist in implementing process improvements and optimizing organisational efficiency
* Engage with cross-functional teams to ensure seamless facility operations
* Collaborate with the Innovation Officer to design new service lines and enhance methodologies
* Work closely with the team to achieve project objectives
Essential Requirements:
* Postgraduate qualifications or significant relevant experience; or PhD in plant science, genetics, physiology, or biotechnology
* Demonstrated expertise in conducting independent scientific research, supervising research personnel, and publishing high-quality research papers
* Evidence of successful project execution and meeting deadlines
* Able to build effective relationships with diverse stakeholders through technical services
* Proven track record in managing multi-stakeholder projects, including strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills
* Highly developed workload management skills with a history of delivering quality reports on time
* Experience working in a service-oriented environment
* Background in pipeline development and process optimisation in a plant transformation context
